I was really delighted to know that its the Sunflower season (Dec) in Bangkok and we went ahead to the Sunflower fields.
How to get there:
By Train: The State Railway of Thailand offers daily train service a few times a day to the province. The Northern line with trains leaving from Bangkok’s Hualamphong station has stops in the capital Lopburi town and a number of smaller towns. The trip takes around two to three hours from Bangkok, depending on the type of train.
By Bus: Take a bus from Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal Mo Chit. Air Conditioned Buses, 3 hours journey. Or you can take a van from Bangkok's Victory Monument which is slightly faster, however luggage space is limited.
By Taxi: Around 2 hours, agree on the fare before leaving or make sure the driver uses the meter.

For me & my sister, we took the cab because there were 2 places we wanted to clear in a day, we were really tired so we just took a cab to save all the inconvenience. We covered Lopburi & Ayutthaya in the same day. The 2 places are around 1 and a half hours away. If you want to cover Lopburi & Ayutthaya within the same day, click here to find out how to get there.
My sister & i after haggling, paid around SGD$60 per person for the cab fare. We departed really early, so its like the price of booking a cab for the entire day.
I love flowers so i really enjoyed our day trip here a lot :D
